This is just a webpage that'll serve as a central index for my L5R fics. Now, just for the record, Legend of the Five Rings belongs to Alderac Entertainment Group, Inc. A number of the characters you see in the stories are of my own creation, but the all of the setting elements (clans, factions, the world of Rokugan) are their's. Now, that said...
Three Man Alliance
A series of stories taking place in the Gold Edition Era, featuring descendants of samurai who fought in a battle that led to a successful alliance of the Fox, Sparrow, and Wasp Minor Clans.
Part 1-- Kitsune Hyosuke, Tsuruchi Noriko, and Suzume Terumoto join forces to chase after a dangerous drug smuggler.
Part 2-- As the trio track the dangerous ronin Rintaro, they begin to suspect there is more to him than opium dealing, and that there may be men who want to keep that information quiet.
Part 3-- Hyosuke, Noriko, and Terumoto track Rintaro to Lonely Shore City, where they encounter the criminal and learn who he truly works for.
Part 4-- The three samurai return to Kitsune Mori to thwart a plot of Rintaro's dark masters.
Epilogue-- The capture of Rintaro and the discovery of certain secrets are analyzed by some very powerful men who plot their next move...
Beneath the Canopy
A sequel to Three Man Alliance, picking up half-way through Diamond Edition.
Part 1-- Hyosuke, Noriko, and Terumoto are reunited by a seeming coincidence to uncover a dark evil growing in the woodlands of Kitsune Mori.
Part 2-- The three samurai search for clues of the bloodspeakers' passing, only now discovering just how much danger waits for the forest and its residents.
Part 3-- The conclusion, as the legacy of the Rain of Blood makes itself known in a threat to the forest and possibly the empire itself.
Three Men
A prequel to my Three Man Alliance stories, telling the tale of the battle that formed the alliance from the perspectives of the samurai of the three clans caught on the wrong end of a Scorpion invasion.
The rewrite's been cancelled and I'm not going to be reposting the original version (partially due to quality issues). The inconsistencies in the maps between editions make it impossible to write a story where major scenes take place outside the battle because of the difficulties of the location. As per the most recent maps we have, the battle apparently took place 200 miles away from Sparrow lands and I just can't find a way to reconcile that with the way the event has been described. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Rebuilding-- Kitsune Hyosuke and Tsuruchi Noriko have a chance encounter in Toshi Ranbo that leads to them re-evaluating their friendship on more than one level. Takes place right at the transition between Lotus and Samurai Edition.
A Bitter Wind-- The followup to "Rebuilding," where Hyosuke and Noriko find themselves confronted with the state of their friendship while the future of the Fox Clan is determined around them.
Tales of Journey's End
An experimental series I'm working on, individual stories taking place in the City of Lies, Ryoko Owari. This will become more clear when I have had time to complete more stories, but the series is intended to heavily feature peasants as much as samurai, if not moreso. They won't necessarily run as part of a continuous story arc, although some stories and characters may refer back to each other.
Lot in Life-- A peasant who has ambitions beyond his station learns that above the peasant class lies a world of danger and intrigue.
Reputation-- A peasant mercenary who can find and do anything for the right price winds up over his head when the job he's meant to do in no way resembles the job he was hired for.
Distances-- A poet in the employ of the Kakita finds himself distracted by a good friend who seems so far away...
Silent Consent-- A waitress in a noodle shop is presented with a difficult choice as she's made a pawn in a greater game.
Everybody Lies-- A crack team of Kitsuki investigators looks into the mysterious poisoning of a Unicorn in one of Ryoko Owari's restaurants, applying Kitsuki's Method to find the cause of death and culprit.
I've started maintaining something of a collection of outtakes. They can be found here, but be warned they're very sparse and contain spoilers. So far there are only outtakes for Rebuilding and A Bitter Wind.
Any feedback on the stories can go to my email address. My LiveJournal can be found here and from here on out I'm going to be posting general updates to the Fanfiction forum at Alderac's website.
